Ever Tried to Define Human Personality? Give this a try!
In short: it is your genetics plus everything you learned.
More precisely: Half is your genetic NATURE: four wired-in genetic emotional alerts in your emotional brain and four rational reactions in your rational brain. The other half is your learned NURTURE: emotional memories that trigger emotional alerts and rational memories that trigger rational reactions. Together, your genetic nature and learned nurture make up your human personality, which makes you unique, but also similar enough to fit into society.

You have a fast acting emotional brain for physical survival that contains the memories of the four basic emotions: anger, fear, joy, and sorrow -- ignore the other emotions for now!
You have a slower reacting rational brain for social survival that contains the memories of the four rational styles: analyzer, director, relator and socializer -- hold that thought!
Together, your two brains are "Symbiotic Personality" -- in four parts:
1. Emotional genetic -- anger, fear, joy, and sorrow
2. Emotional learned -- emotional memories
3. Rational genetic -- analyzer, director, relator, and socializer styles
4. Rational learned -- rational memories
Symbiotic Personality is defined as: "when your emotional brain alerts your rational brain to a threat and your rational brain decides how to deal with it." -- It is simple in concept!
The way Symbiotic Personality works is: Your visual, auditory, taste, touch, and smell sensations, trigger sensory memories that trigger an emotional memory that triggers rational memories that quell the emotion. The director style quells anger, the analyzer style fear, the relator style sorrow, and the socializer style quells joy.
But, to quell an emotion the rational brain must use those alerting sensory memories to identify the cause of the emotional alert -- and once identified, the emotion is automatically turned off (like turning off a smoke alarm once the cause of the smoke is identified).
Rational identification always quells an emotion, except when you rationalize (when you try to justify your emotional outburst) -- rationalization re-triggers and intensifies an emotional memory and thus, that never ending emotional outburst.
Unfortunately, you cannot erase emotional memories, but you can finesse them if you avoid rationalization. By doing so, you give yourself other options for rationally reacting to an undesired emotional outburst, both now and in the future. This finessing will reduce your anger, fear and sorrow significantly, providing you with the ability to share love with others and take control of your life.
You can evolve beyond your genetics in your lifetime!
